The Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association recently released its annual awards, spotlighting the finest talent from Licking County this spring. The recognition reflects a year in which local programs combined dominant pitching, potent hitting and deep playoff runs.
Coach of the Year: Adam Arcuri
Arcuri guided Licking Valley to its third straight Licking County League‑Buckeye Division title and added a district championship, cementing his reputation as one of the area’s most consistent leaders.
Player of the Year: Wilson Wells
Wells, a senior at Granville, posted a .623 batting average that set a single‑season record, underscoring his impact at the plate and helping the Blue Devils secure a strong finish.
Honoring the All‑Area Selections
Several other standouts earned first‑team honors, including Grayson Snow of Licking Valley, who delivered a three‑hit shutout in the district final, and Braeden Archibald of Johnstown, a two‑way standout who excelled both at the plate and on the mound. Additional first‑team members from Newark Catholic, Watkins Memorial and other local schools round out a deep pool of talent.
