The college baseball transfer portal has become a buzzing hub of activity this spring, and West Virginia University is no exception. As the Mountaineers reshape their roster, both departures and arrivals are shaping the team’s outlook for the upcoming season.
Departures
Right‑handed pitcher Luke Lyman left the program on May 27, followed by left‑handed pitcher Bryson Thacker on May 28 and Andrew Middleton on May 29. Additional departures included Mac Stiffler and Wyatt Mosley on June 19, along with infielder Ryan Maggy, further thinning the squad.
Incoming Additions
The Mountaineers welcomed a series of newcomers, starting with Colin Coonradt, an infielder/outfielder who transferred from Johnson County Community College on January 23. Other recent arrivals include infielder Ryan Piekutoski from USC Sumter (April 27), right‑handed pitcher Austin Zience from Marietta (May 12), and right‑handed pitcher/outfielder Korey Alston from Odessa College (May 20). Pitchers Drew Becker (Ashland, May 26), Zak Whitney (Southern New Hampshire, June 2), Griffen Paige (Wright State, June 6), and catcher/outfielder Cash Williams (Tennessee, June 10) have also joined the roster. Infielder Owen Henne (Seton Hill, June 10) and outfielder Jack Cannon (Le Moyne, June 13) round out the class of transfers.
