The University of Houston Women's Basketball program has kicked off its Watch Us Community Tour, a series of clinics designed to introduce young athletes to the fundamentals of the game while fostering a love for basketball in the Houston area.
First Clinic Set for July 1
The opening event will take place at Cypress Springs High School on Wednesday, July 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The two‑hour session is priced at $25 and welcomes boys and girls who will be entering first through eighth grade for the 2026‑27 school year.
Participants can expect a focused curriculum that covers basic ball‑handling, shooting mechanics, and teamwork concepts. Instruction will be provided by current players and coaching staff, who will also be available after the clinic for photos and autograph signings.
Building a Local Basketball Culture
Organizers view the tour as more than a skills clinic; it is an opportunity to strengthen community ties and inspire the next generation of players. Future stops are planned across the region, each tailored to highlight local talent and provide accessible basketball education.
