Andrew Moore Returns to Oregon State as Pitching Coach

Former All‑American brings championship pedigree to the Beavers' staff

A familiar arm back in the circle

Andrew Moore, a former All‑American pitcher for Oregon State, has been appointed the new pitching coach for the Beavers, taking over from Rich Dorman who left for a position with the Florida Gators. The move signals a return to Corvallis for a player who once helped lead the program to national prominence.

During his collegiate career from 2013 to 2015, Moore posted a 2.10 ERA and a 27‑9 record across 48 starts, earning All‑American honors in 2013 and 2015. As a junior in 2015 he guided the Beavers to an NCAA regional with a 7‑2 record and a 1.91 ERA, showcasing the same dominance that now he will try to instill in the next generation of pitchers.

From the majors to the minors and back again

After being selected in the second round by the Seattle Mariners in 2015, Moore made ten major‑league appearances between 2017 and 2019. He then turned to coaching, spending several seasons within the Cleveland Guardians organization where he worked with pitchers at various levels of the minor leagues, honing his ability to develop talent and refine mechanics.

Mitch Canham, the Beavers' head coach, expressed enthusiasm about the hire, citing Moore's playing achievements and his proven coaching track record. "We’re excited to bring a piece of our own history back to the staff," Canham said, adding that Moore’s experience and deep connection to the program should help the team compete for a National Championship.
