A Fresh Start in Philadelphia
Edwin Suarez, the former Muhlenberg High School standout, is set to continue his collegiate career at Temple University after completing a transfer from Weber State. The move marks a new chapter for the 6‑foot‑7 forward, who brings a blend of junior‑college accolades and high‑school distinction to the Owls' program.
Suarez spent two seasons at Arizona Western Community College, where he earned NJCAA Division I All‑America third‑team honors as a sophomore and helped the team to a strong campaign. His performances earned him a place on the All‑Berks team twice during his high school tenure at Muhlenberg, where he capped his senior year with averages of 18.8 points and 11.0 rebounds, guiding the squad to the District 3 Class 6A playoffs.
During his lone season at Weber State, he appeared in 31 games, logging 9.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest. He reached a career‑high 26 points against Utah Valley, a performance that highlighted his scoring potential. Prior to that, he had posted a junior season average of 12.1 points and 10 rebounds, underscoring a steady upward trajectory.
Matt Flowers, a longtime associate of the program, is expected to play a supportive role as Suarez integrates into the Owls' system. The transfer comes amid a wave of roster adjustments, and coaches have praised Suarez's work ethic and versatility on the court.
Looking Ahead
With the new academic year approaching, Suarez is slated to join preseason practices and compete for a starting spot. The coaching staff believes his rebounding prowess and ability to stretch the floor could add a new dimension to Temple's offense. As the roster solidifies, fans anticipate a season that could see the Owls contending for conference honors.
