Indiana's 2027 Defensive Back Commitment
Indiana University’s football program has added a significant piece to its 2027 recruiting class with the commitment of three-star cornerback Ramir Harris-Dupree. The Greensboro, North Carolina prospect chose the Hoosiers over Rutgers, the University of Missouri and the University of Louisville, marking a notable win for the Big Ten staff.
Harris-Dupree brings a blend of size and speed that coaches say fits the modern defensive scheme. At 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, he is expected to compete for playing time early in his collegiate career. His decision follows a recruiting process that intensified after Indiana extended an offer in May and he visited the campus on June 12.
High School Highlights
During his sophomore year he recorded 69 tackles and two tackles for loss, helping Grimsley High School capture the North Carolina 4A state championship with a perfect 16-0 record. As a junior he added five tackles for loss, two interceptions and a forced fumble, contributing to another championship run.
Rankings from 247Sports place him as the No. 106 cornerback nationally and the No. 40 overall player in North Carolina, while other services rank him at No. 1,184 nationally, underscoring his status as a highly sought after prospect.
Recruitment Timeline
Indiana offered Harris-Dupree on May 20, and he took an official visit on June 12. The decision was announced shortly thereafter, closing a recruitment that also featured interest from Rutgers, Missouri and Louisville.
The commitment reflects a broader trend in Indiana’s recruiting approach, emphasizing players with proven championship experience and the ability to make an immediate impact on defense.
