The Jefferson City American Legion Post 5 Seniors saw their Twin Lakes Classic campaign end with a 12‑3 defeat to the Pontotoc (Miss.) Red Sox, dropping their final group‑play matchup.
From the outset the Red Sox took control, as Caiden Farmer opened the scoring with an RBI groundout in the first inning before extending the lead with a two‑run single in the third, pushing the margin to 3‑0.
Pontotoc’s offense surged in the fourth, adding three runs to climb to a 7‑0 advantage, a gap that proved insurmountable despite a late rally.
Post 5 finally got on the board in the fourth when Luke Skinner drew a bases‑loaded walk, followed by a Brayden Kempker RBI single that trimmed the deficit to 7‑2.
The Red Sox answered with two more runs in the same inning, stretching the score to 9‑2, and later added three more in the sixth to seal the final margin.
Key Pitching Performances
