A New Chapter for Winslow
Jamal White has been appointed as the new head football coach of the Winslow Eagles, the program that has captured two consecutive NJSIAA state championships. The school board announced the hiring on Tuesday, citing White’s deep roots in the region and his proven offensive acumen.
White arrives after a stint as an offensive coordinator at both Timber Creek and Woodbury, where he helped guide teams to multiple sectional titles and a state championship. His play‑calling philosophy, which emphasizes a balanced attack and quick‑tempo schemes, earned him recognition across South Jersey.
Beyond the sidelines, White is a middle school special education teacher in Williamstown, a role he says keeps him grounded and attuned to the developmental needs of young athletes. He has previously coached under Rob Hinson and Anthony Reagan, experiences that have shaped his approach to player mentorship.
The Eagles finished the previous season with a 12‑2 record, capping an undefeated 2024 campaign, and now look to build on that momentum. Former head coach Bill Belton stepped down to accept a position at St. Augustine, opening the door for White’s leadership.

White’s vision extends beyond the field. He aims to develop each player into a productive member of the community, instilling discipline, academic focus, and a commitment to service. ‘Our goal is to win championships, but also to win in the classroom and in life,’ he said.
The Winslow community has greeted the appointment with optimism, hoping White’s blend of playing pedigree, coaching experience, and educational background will sustain the program’s winning tradition.
