Auburn and the surrounding Cayuga County community will come together this Thursday for a special baseball night that blends sport with social outreach.
The event, organized by a coalition that includes the Auburn Police Department, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, the District Attorney’s Office, Probation, CAP and Cayuga Counseling Services, is designed to showcase a united front in building a safer, stronger neighborhood.
Scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. at Falcon Park, the game will pit the local Doubledays against the Olean Oilers, drawing fans of all ages.
Admission is free, and every attendee will receive a complimentary ice‑cream cone and a commemorative t‑shirt, adding a festive touch to the evening.
Funding for the night comes from the GIVE and STRIVE grants, which support initiatives that foster community cohesion and youth engagement across the region.
Beyond the competition, organizers emphasize that the night is about more than scores; it is a chance for residents to see the men and women who protect and serve working side by side with social service providers.
A Night of Baseball and Community Unity
As the sun sets over Falcon Park, the crack of the bat will echo a broader commitment to a safer Cayuga County, reminding everyone that teamwork on the field can translate into teamwork in everyday life.
