Steve Jervis to Receive Scranton Lions Club Man of the Year Honor
The Scranton Lions Club will recognize longtime Lackawanna Trail head coach Steve Jervis as its 92nd Dream Game Man of the Year, a tribute to his enduring impact on high school football in the region.
Over 17 seasons, Jervis has compiled a 136‑64 record, culminating in 159 career victories that place him 11th on the all‑time list of coaches in the Lackawanna Interscholastic Athletic Association.
Community Leadership and Statewide Influence
Beyond the sidelines, Jervis serves on the executive board of the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association and has promoted local talent on a statewide stage, including a recent appearance at the Big 33 Classic.
His family roots run deep in Northeast Pennsylvania; Steve and his wife Kirsten reside in Factoryville, where their sons Stephen and Tyler have followed in their father's footsteps as standout players for Lackawanna Trail.
Stephen Jervis recently competed in the 2024 Dream Game as a member of the City all‑stars, while Tyler Jervis is slated to join the same squad as a linebacker and quarterback, continuing the family's football legacy.
A Record of Championships
Under Jervis's guidance, the Lions have captured seven District 2 Class 1A titles, including four consecutive championships, underscoring the program's sustained excellence.
His coaching prowess earned The Times‑Tribune Coach of the Year honors in 2016 and 2018, further cementing his reputation as one of the region's most respected mentors.
