Jon Michael Kidd Named New Baseball Coach at West Monroe High School

Former Rebel player and assistant returns to lead the program after Wade Simoneaux's retirement

West Monroe High School has appointed Jon Michael Kidd as its new baseball coach, filling the vacancy left by Wade Simoneaux’s retirement after a distinguished tenure.

A Familiar Face Returns

Kidd, a West Monroe alumnus, played collegiately at the University of Arkansas at Monticello and Louisiana Christian College before returning to his hometown as an assistant coach.

Simoneaux, who steered the Rebels to eleven straight district championships and a 25‑10 record last season, recommended Kidd for the top position and has offered to serve as a part‑time sounding board.

Simoneaux’s Support

The team finished the previous campaign with a 25‑10 record, exiting in the Division I nonselect second round to Destrehan, yet has maintained a streak of district titles for over a decade.

Local reporter Jake Martin of the Ouachita Citizen was the first to break the story, highlighting the community’s anticipation for the new era.
