The Treasure Coast’s high school baseball scene received a major boost this week as TCPalm unveiled its annual recognition of the region’s top players and coaches.
Season Honors
Vero Beach senior Caleb Wood stood out for his potent bat, earning Player of the Year after a season that featured five home runs and a strong overall average.
On the mound, Vero Beach’s Cody Morgan was rewarded with Pitcher of the Year for the second time in three seasons, having posted a 1.30 ERA and 111 strikeouts.
Martin County’s Brett Hawkins was named Coach of the Year after steering his squad to its first state tournament appearance in 58 years, a milestone that underscored his impact.
Other notable performances included Peyton Baum of Jensen Beach, who posted a 2.02 ERA and 57 strikeouts, and Colton Bettencourt of Martin County, who batted .322 with 24 RBIs.
Landon Del Tufo contributed a 1.85 ERA with 53 strikeouts, while Nate Downey batted .375 and scored a team‑high 30 runs for Vero Beach.
St. Edward’s pitcher Caden Freedman fanned 49 batters while walking just 14, and Dominick Grimaldi of Fort Pierce Central hit .400 with a home run and six doubles.
Thomas Johnson of Treasure Coast led his team with a .464 average, 26 hits and six doubles, and Bradyn Lineberry of Okeechobee ranked near the top in several offensive categories.
Additional standouts such as Colt Miller, Zane Moody, Timothy Stevens, Brandon Walker and Carsen Williams rounded out a deep pool of talent across the area.
Regional Champions
Eight programs qualified for the regional stage, with Vero Beach and Martin County emerging as regional champions and advancing to the state level.
The breadth of achievements reflects a vibrant baseball culture on the Treasure Coast, setting a promising foundation for the next season.
