John Giles Named Head Coach of Beavercreek Boys Basketball

Former Carlisle Coach Brings Championship Experience to the Program

John Giles has been appointed as the new head coach of the Beavercreek High School boys basketball program, a move that awaits formal approval from the Beavercreek City Schools Board of Education.

Giles Brings a Proven Track Record

Giles spent the 2025‑26 season as an assistant at Springboro before stepping down from his role as head coach at Carlisle, where he compiled a 61‑31 record over four years and captured two Southwestern Buckeye League West Division titles. His tenure also earned him co‑Coach of the Year honors in the SWBL West Division for the 2021‑22 and 2022‑23 seasons, and the OPSMA Division III Coach of the Year award in the Southwest District in 2023.

He will replace Isaiah Williams, who finished his stint with a 43‑52 record and a district championship in 2025, and will inherit a Beavercreek squad that went 5‑18 overall and 1‑13 in Greater Western Ohio Conference play during the 2025‑26 campaign.

Community Outlook

Local officials and basketball enthusiasts alike are optimistic that Giles’s experience and winning pedigree will revitalize the program. The board’s pending approval is expected to be a formality, paving the way for a fresh direction as the team aims to climb out of the lower tier of the conference and contend for future playoff berths.
