Alabama’s baseball program has announced the arrival of three transfers who will form the core of its 2027 squad. Right‑handers Garret Lambert from Mercer and Michael Senjay from USF, along with senior catcher Mateo Serna from Missouri, have signed on to join the Crimson Tide.
A Strategic Reinforcement
Lambert brings a 7‑1 record and a 4.12 ERA over 89.2 innings, having struck out 110 batters while at Mercer. Senjay, meanwhile, posted a 6‑3 record and a 3.78 ERA in 81 innings, a performance that earned him the conference’s top WHIP ranking. Both pitchers are expected to battle for weekend rotation spots, adding depth and experience to a staff that lost several key arms.
Serna arrives as a proven backstop, having started 117 games behind the plate and compiled a .240 average with 21 RBIs. His defensive experience will complement returning captain Will Plattner, giving the team a stable presence both in the dugout and on the field.
Coach Rob Vaughn and his staff view the trio as a strategic reinforcement that could keep Alabama competitive in the SEC.
