Harlem Shooting Leaves Four Injured
At approximately 1:18 a.m. on Sunday, a burst of gunfire erupted on 143rd Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem, striking four young people who had been gathered near a basketball court.
The victims, ranging in age from 16 to 21, were quickly transported to Harlem Hospital where they remain in stable condition, each sustaining injuries to lower extremities.
Witnesses described a large crowd of teenagers and young adults socializing around the court when the shots rang out, sending the group scattering as the sound of multiple gunshots echoed down the block.
Investigation Underway
Police officers arrived within minutes, securing the scene and beginning a search for shell casings and surveillance footage.
Detectives are working to determine how many shooters were involved and whether the incident is linked to any ongoing gang activity.
As of now, no arrests have been made and the investigation remains active, with authorities appealing to the public for any additional information.
