The Tuscaloosa News unveiled its 2026 All-Area boys soccer teams, recognizing the standout performers from across the region.
Player of the Year
Lynn Otero of Northside earned the honor after a prolific season in which he topped the area with 37 goals and added 19 assists, a combination that left opponents scrambling.
Coach of the Year
Topher LaRussa, also from Northridge, was celebrated as Coach of the Year after guiding his squad to a 19-6-2 record and a program-record 16-game winning streak.
The first-team lineup features a blend of offensive firepower and defensive solidity, with Connor Hooks of Northridge leading the attack with 31 goals and 12 assists, while Carson Hannah of Northside contributed 23 goals and 11 assists.
Other first-team standouts include Alejandro Valle of Brookwood, who tallied 27 goals and 13 assists despite missing several games due to injury, Samuel Harcrow from Hillcrest with 25 goals and 12 assists, and Arlin Perez of Brookwood, noted for his versatility with 24 goals and seven assists.
Defensive contributors such as Jayden Vela of Northside, Jacob Shankman of Northridge, Grey Frith from Hillcrest, and Gabe Daniels of Northridge were also recognized, the latter posting 11 shutouts and earning All-American honors.
Second Team and Honorable Mentions
The second team draws talent from Tuscaloosa Academy, Tuscaloosa County, Brookwood, American Christian and Northside, while honorable mentions highlight players from Hillcrest, Northridge, Northside and Tuscaloosa County.
