A High‑Stakes Spectacle at the Delaware Oval
This weekend the NASCAR All‑Star Race will descend on Dover Motor Speedway, a 1‑mile high‑banked concrete oval just south of Wilmington, Delaware. The historic track, known for its relentless banking and tight corners, will host the sport’s most lucrative non‑championship event, offering a $1 million prize to the winner of the final 200‑lap showdown.
NASCAR has already locked 19 drivers into the championship‑deciding segment. The group includes every race winner from the 2025 and 2026 seasons, as well as full‑time Cup Series competitors who have previously captured a series championship. Names such as Ross Chastain, Austin Cindric, Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney, Christopher Bell, Joey Logano, Tyler Reddick, Ty Gibbs, Shane van Gisbergen, Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch are among those guaranteed a spot in the finale.
The remaining seven positions will be decided through a combination of on‑track performance and fan voting. After two 75‑lap segments, the top‑26 finishers in the opening stage will have their order inverted for the second segment, while the next ten cars will line up according to their original finishing positions. The six drivers with the best combined average finish across the first two stages will then earn a berth, and a final spot will be awarded to the fan‑chosen favorite, with Alex Bowman, Chris Buescher, Noah Gragson, Ryan Preece and Connor Zilisch currently leading the vote.
Because Dover lacks stadium lighting, the event will run under daylight conditions, adding a unique visual element to the proceedings. With the stage set and the stakes high, spectators can expect a blend of strategy, speed and drama as the drivers battle for the coveted million‑dollar payday.
