The Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s baseball regular season wrapped up on May 15, ushering in the postseason that kicks off on Saturday, May 16. The final standings reveal a cluster of standout athletes from Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties who have posted eye‑catching numbers across a dozen statistical categories.
Leading the offensive charge, Tyler Fryman of Beechwood tops the batting average leaderboard at .554 and also paces the region with 67 hits, 56 runs and 45 RBIs. Close behind, Campbell County’s Tyler Schumacher sits second in both average (.500) and hits (51), while Ludlow’s Parker Trenkamp rounds out the top three with a .494 average.
In the power department, Fryman also dominates with 10 home runs, while Camden Tiemeier of Campbell County follows with nine. The trio of Henry Brooks from Newport Central Catholic and Bronson Corpus of Walton‑Verona share third place with seven homers each.
The offensive production extends to doubles and triples. Issac Amin of Bishop Brossart leads with 18 doubles, while Max Brunkel of Conner sits second with 15. Fryman’s nine triples top the list, and a four‑way tie at four triples involves Caleb Arrasmith of Beechwood, Brogan Scott of Cooper, Jackson Mays of Ludlow and Trey Cook of Scott.
On the base‑running front, Tyler Schumacher leads stolen bases with 59, followed by Jacob Muse of Heritage Academy with 43. Fryman completes the top three with 35 steals. Walks are led by Anthony Coppola of Ryle with 29, while Austin Krohmer of Dixie Heights sits second with 28.
Pitching statistics show Joe Rice of Villa Madonna posting the lowest ERA at 0.27, with Jay Race of Scott close behind at 0.82. Luke Corbin of Calvary Christian tops innings pitched with 55.1, while Rice also ranks third in strikeouts with 88, behind Benjamin Brown of Heritage Academy’s 120.
Defensively, William Peed of Campbell County leads in saves with three, and a pair of pitchers — Jeffery Young of Simon Kenton and Braxton Gillespie of Ludlow — share second with two saves each. The depth of talent across the region promises competitive matchups as the postseason begins.
