The Kentucky Wildcats women's basketball team has cracked the On3 preseason Top 10, securing the No. 9 spot as the new season approaches.
Head coach Kenny Brooks, now in his third year at the university, has assembled a roster that blends proven veterans with promising newcomers, positioning the Wildcats as a contender for a deep March tournament run.
A strong returning core
Returning players such as forward Clara Strack and guard Asia Boone are expected to provide continuity and leadership, having contributed significantly in the previous season.
Fresh faces and key additions
The roster welcomes freshmen Maddyn Greenway, Savvy Swords and Emily McDonald, while transfers Diana Collins from Alabama, Me’Arah O’Neal from Florida and Ajsa Sivka from an international program add further depth and versatility.
Coach Brooks believes the mix of experience and youthful energy could make this one of the most competitive teams he has coached in Lexington.
The ultimate goal is to translate this preseason optimism into a strong performance during the regular season and, ultimately, a deep run in the NCAA tournament this March.
