2026 Schedule Unveiled
On June 22, the University of Virginia women's soccer program lifted the curtain on its 2026 campaign, confirming a 17‑match slate that blends non‑conference action with Atlantic Coast Conference play. The announcement came as part of the regular offseason rollout, setting expectations for a season that will begin with a seven‑game home stretch before the team hits the road.
The non‑conference portion features six straight contests on the ground in Charlottesville, beginning with matchups against Northwestern, Liberty, La Salle, James Madison, Yale, Tennessee and Georgetown. This early run not only tests the squad against a diverse set of opponents but also gives the coaching staff a chance to fine‑tune tactics before conference play begins.
ACC Roadmap
Once ACC competition starts, Virginia will host five of its ten conference opponents — Miami, North Carolina, Syracuse, Clemson and Louisville — while traveling to face Wake Forest, Notre Dame, SMU, Virginia Tech and Duke. The balanced home‑and‑away split reflects the program’s aim to maintain a strong presence at home while remaining competitive on the road.
The ACC tournament will see quarterfinal games hosted on campus sites on November 8, with the semifinals and finals moving to WakeMed Park in Cary, North Carolina. Following the conference championship, the team will enter NCAA Tournament first‑round action the weekend of November 20, culminating in the College Cup in Cary.
Exhibition Matches
Before the official season opener, the Cavaliers are slated to play two exhibition games — one against Maryland and another against DC Power of the Gainbridge Super League. These tune‑up matches provide a final opportunity for player development and lineup experimentation ahead of the rigorous schedule ahead.
