Baylor Athletics has unveiled the thematic lineup for its 2026 football season, promising a series of game‑day experiences that blend tradition, community pride and fan participation. Each of the six scheduled home games will be anchored by a unique identity, designed to highlight different facets of Baylor culture and the broader Waco region.
A Season of Celebration
The opening highlight arrives on September 12 when the Bears host Prairie View A&M for a 254 Night contest. The theme pays tribute to the Waco community and the 254 area code, inviting local residents to see their city celebrated on the gridiron.
A week later, on September 19, the matchup against Louisiana Tech will be branded Gold Rush. The event will incorporate Childhood Cancer Awareness initiatives and feature the Vamos Osos celebration, merging philanthropy with school spirit.
September 26 brings the Traditions Game against Colorado, a showcase of Baylor’s rich history and enduring customs. Special recognitions and nostalgic elements will be woven into the fan experience to underscore the program’s legacy.
October 17’s contest versus TCU will be called Blackout on the Brazos/Whiteout, with fan attire determined by kickoff time. This dynamic approach encourages supporters to dress in black or white based on whether the game starts in the afternoon or evening.
The November 7 Homecoming game against Iowa State will welcome alumni and friends back to campus, reinforcing the university’s commitment to lifelong connections. The following week, November 21, the Salute to Service theme will honor active‑duty military personnel, veterans and first responders when the Bears face Texas Tech.
Fan Involvement and Community Support
Beyond the on‑field action, Baylor will launch a 2026 Fan Button Design Contest, inviting supporters to submit original artwork for select home games. Winning designs will be incorporated into official game‑day merchandise, giving fans a direct role in shaping the season’s visual identity.
Ticket information for the 2026 season will be released digitally, with single‑game tickets becoming available in July. Fans can expect a streamlined purchasing process that aligns with the university’s move toward online ticketing platforms.
