Hall of Fame Class of 2026
Carey Price, the longtime Montreal Canadiens netminder, has been selected for the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2026, a testament to his enduring impact on the sport. He will be joined by Patrice Bergeron, Pekka Rinne, Keith Tkachuk, Brian Burke and Cindy Curley, with Shea Weber becoming the second member of the 2021 Stanley Cup final roster to be inducted.
Price spent his entire professional career in Montreal after being drafted fifth overall in 2005, appearing in 712 NHL games with a 361‑261‑79 record, 49 shutouts and a goals‑against average that helped define a generation of goaltenders.
His trophy cabinet includes the Hart Trophy, Vézina Trophy, Ted Lindsay Award, William M. Jennings Trophy and the Northern Star Award, all earned in the 2014‑15 season, as well as the Bill Masterton Trophy in 2022 for his perseverance.
He also backstopped Canada to a gold medal at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, posting a 5‑0 record, a 0.59 GAA and a .972 save percentage, earning the tournament’s top goalie honor. A knee injury that forced his retirement in 2022 could not diminish a legacy that includes multiple franchise records and a lasting influence on goaltending in Canada.
