The Western Carolina women's soccer program has released its full 2026 slate, a 20‑match journey that blends home‑field familiarity with a gauntlet of elite road tests.
Eleven of those contests will unfold at the Catamount Athletic Complex, giving the Catamounts a chance to leverage their home crowd as they prepare for the rigors of Southern Conference play.
A Schedule Designed for Growth
Head coach Chad Miller said the schedule was crafted to expose the team to high‑quality regional opponents while sharpening the tactical depth needed for conference competition.
The lineup features three first‑time opponents and a new Southern Conference foe, alongside three NCAA tournament teams from the previous season — Tennessee, Tennessee Tech and Samford — who will test the Catamounts early and often.
Overall, ten of the opponents sit inside the top 150 of the NCAA RPI, underscoring the competitive nature of the slate and the opportunity for Western Carolina to make a statement on a national stage.
The season opens with exhibition matches against Georgia State and Wright State before the regular‑season debut against Winthrop, setting a tone of immediacy and focus.
Mid‑September will see the team embark on a three‑match road stretch, followed by a series of back‑to‑back contests that will challenge endurance and depth.
The campaign will culminate in the SoCon Women's Soccer Championships in November, where the Catamounts aim to translate regular‑season progress into postseason success.
