Dom Procopio Exits the Ice, Joins TPH as Mentor in Huntsville

After five years with the Havoc and a leadership stint cut short by injury, the former captain looks to shape the next generation at a local hockey academy.

Dom Procopio hung up his skates last month, ending a five‑year tenure with the Huntsville Havoc that saw him rise from rookie to captain.

When the Chargers’ collegiate program was suspended, a chance meeting with Glenn Detulleo opened the door to professional hockey in the city, and Procopio quickly became a cornerstone of the team.

His leadership was defined by a simple creed: be himself and lead by example, a philosophy that earned him the respect of teammates and fans alike.

From Player to Mentor

Now employed by Total Package Hockey, the academy where his younger brother Gio continues to develop, Procopio says he thrives on watching young athletes light up the rink, recalling the excitement he felt as a kid.

He hopes his new role will give the next generation the same sense of belonging he found in Huntsville, and he remains proud of the leadership he left on the ice.
