Captain Luke Tagliente leads the charge
Senior Luke Tagliente was selected captain of the Class A all‑state first team, a testament to his dual threat abilities as both pitcher and hitter. His leadership helped the Warriors secure the title and set the tone for the squad.
The all‑state roster reads like a who’s who of high school baseball in the Mountain State, featuring repeat honorees and newcomers alike. East Hardy’s Evan Hamilton earned the rare distinction of a three‑peat on the first team, while Gilmer County’s Kolten Holbert joined Tagliente as one of four players who received multiple selections this spring.
Other standouts included Kason Angel, who earned a utility nod after a strong pitching performance, and Parker Hopkins, a stalwart catcher for the Warriors in his final year. Additional first‑team members such as Casey Burkhammer, Aden Young, Brayden Hamrick, Cam Keller, Mason Hamilton, Wyatt Pence, and Eli Gunter rounded out an impressive lineup.
The team also recognized several utility players, including Grayson Sanders and Roddick Page, while Jacob Stewart was named second‑team captain. The second‑team infield featured Wyatt Boice, Landon Francis, Cyrus Rickard, and Carter Hajash, and the outfield was bolstered by twin brothers Dom Minnocci and Javonni Minnocci from Notre Dame.
West Virginia Sports Writers Association released the Class A All‑State team on Tuesday, handing out wooden plaques shaped like the state that bear each honoree’s name, school, and the licensed WVSWA logo.
