The NBA landscape was shaken when Giannis Antetokounmpo, the two‑time MVP and cornerstone of the Milwaukee Bucks, was dealt to the Miami Heat in a multi‑team blockbuster that also involved several other players and draft assets.
A blockbuster move reshapes the Eastern Conference
The trade sent the Greek star to South Florida and delivered a package of four players, three first‑round picks, a pick swap and a second‑rounder to Milwaukee, giving the Bucks a substantial infusion of future talent.
Among the newcomers to the Bucks is Kel'el Ware, the former Indiana University standout who earned a spot on the NBA All‑Rookie second team in 2025 and brings size and interior presence to Milwaukee's frontcourt.
Ware, who averaged 9.4 points and 7.3 rebounds during the 2024‑25 season and posted 11.1 points and 9 rebounds in his sophomore campaign, is expected to provide depth and developmental upside alongside the team's established stars.
The deal also secures the No. 13 pick and the Bucks' own 10th selection in the 2026 draft, adding valuable assets to a roster that now also includes veteran forward Bobby Portis, who joins the Heat alongside Antetokounmpo.
Miami, meanwhile, adds Antetokounmpo to a core that already features Bam Adebayo, Andrew Wiggins, Nikola Jovic and the newly acquired Portis, creating a formidable lineup that could contend immediately for a championship.
