Nebraska’s women’s basketball program has released its nonconference slate for the 2026‑27 season, a 11‑game lineup that pits the Huskers against a mix of power‑house programs from the SEC, ACC, Big 12 and Big East.
The campaign opens at home against San Jose State, giving the team a familiar foothold before it travels to face Western Illinois, the Ohio Valley Conference champion, and North Carolina A&T in the early weeks.
Key rivalries rekindled
A highlight comes when the Huskers head to Omaha to meet Creighton, renewing an annual rivalry that draws a packed house, while a later contest against Kansas will mark the 87th meeting of a storied series that has seen the two programs trade victories over the decades.
Texas A&M, fresh off a meeting in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, also appears on the schedule, adding another layer of intrigue, and the slate will close with a West Coast showdown at the Chase Center in San Francisco, where Nebraska will test itself against California in front of a national audience.
Transition to Big Ten play
After the nonconference grind, the Huskers will shift gears in late December to begin Big Ten competition, a move that promises to build on the experience gained against top‑tier opponents and to position the team for a strong conference run.
