Malachi Jordan, a five‑star basketball recruit, is preparing for his senior season at Prolific Prep, marking his fourth high school in as many years. The move comes after stints at Ensworth School, Link Academy and Dream City Christian, each of which contributed to his rapid development.
Ranked No. 10 overall in the 2027 class and the second‑best small forward, Jordan brings a blend of size, shooting and athleticism that has attracted numerous programs. His 6‑7 frame and versatile skill set have positioned him as a coveted asset on the national stage.
A Calendar of Official Visits
Jordan’s first official visit this fall is set for September 26, when he will travel to Knoxville to see the University of Tennessee. The trip coincides with Tennessee’s football showdown against Texas, underscoring the overlap of basketball and football recruiting cycles.
In addition to the Vols, Jordan has scheduled an official visit to Alabama and previously took unofficial trips to Tennessee in winter 2025, where he watched the Volunteers defeat Florida and Alabama. Those experiences have given him a familiarity with the program’s culture and facilities.
Tennessee’s Recruiting Pulse
Tennessee’s 2027 recruiting class remains uncommitted, but the staff, led by head coach Rick Barnes, continues to court top talent. Alongside Jordan, the Volunteers have hosted prospects such as Gabe Nesmith, RJ Moore and Chase Lumpkin, while also expressing interest in five‑star forward Marcus Spears Jr.
The roster currently includes four seniors, guaranteeing at least four scholarships for the incoming class. Should NBA draft prospects or transfer portal additions emerge, the number of available slots could expand, providing Tennessee with flexibility in shaping its future lineup.
