Tony Skole Joins Coastal Carolina Baseball as General Manager

Veteran coach brings 25 years of experience to lead program's next era

Tony Skole has been hired as the general manager of Coastal Carolina Baseball, bringing over 25 years of collegiate head‑coaching experience to the program.

A distinguished coaching pedigree

Skole’s résumé includes leadership roles at some of the nation’s most prominent baseball programs, where he has shaped player development and competitive strategy.

He spent seven seasons at The Citadel, guiding the program before moving on to East Tennessee State, where he became the all‑time winningest coach with 471 victories over 18 seasons.

His early coaching stops included a three‑year tenure at Lincoln Memorial, where he recorded 95 wins, and a two‑year stint at IMG Academy’s Black squad, which finished 42‑8 and earned a USA Baseball Collegiate National Team assistant appointment in 2019.

Skole’s playing days at The Citadel were equally impressive; as a third baseman he helped the Bulldogs capture two Southern Conference championships and reach the 1990 College World Series, and he earned a place in the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011.

A 1991 graduate, he lettered in both baseball and football, starting 35 consecutive games at defensive back and serving as team captain in his senior season.

Expressing enthusiasm for his new responsibilities, Skole said he looks forward to leveraging his extensive background to elevate Coastal Carolina’s baseball program and to support the university’s broader athletic ambitions.
