Petoskey’s baseball, softball and soccer squads made a strong impression during the 2026 Big North Conference season, each team producing athletes who earned all‑conference recognition.
Baseball Highlights
The Northmen’s baseball roster was anchored by a blend of hitting consistency and pitching dominance. Zach Wodek paced the lineup with a .458 batting average and 33 runs scored, while Elijah Young posted a .348 average, 11 RBIs and 23 runs. Tyler Pool combined a .431 average with 10 doubles, 28 RBIs and 21 runs, and also contributed a 1.92 ERA on the mound. Beckett Blake added 195.1 innings behind the plate, hitting .317 with 26 RBIs, and Tate Russell batted .448, leading the team with 15 doubles and two home runs. Dylan Aukeman emerged as the ace, posting a 1.47 ERA and striking out 48 batters.
Together, these performances helped the team secure a competitive edge in the conference and contributed to multiple all‑conference selections.
Softball Success
The softball side of the program also shined, with six players earning conference honors. Alexis Cadarette batted .590, stole 29 bases and scored 53 runs, while Lyla Janes hit .425, drove in 44 runs and added 45 runs, including six homers and six triples. Jordan Malec logged 94 innings, went 13‑3 and struck out 108 batters. Cora Howard hit .304, drove in 15 runs and scored 32, and Addisynn Segraves posted a .360 average with 12 extra‑base hits, three of them homers. Fran Pool nearly broke the season record, finishing with 11 home runs.
Soccer Notables
In soccer, Katie Robinson led the team with 15 goals, earning first‑team honors, while Dezi Plichta contributed two goals and two assists. Goalkeeper Isla Scheib recorded 60 saves, posted six shutouts and a 1.94 goals‑against average. Claire O’Donnell closed her final season with seven goals and an assist, and Mady Smith added three goals and four assists.
Across all three sports, Petoskey’s 2026 athletes demonstrated depth and talent, reflecting the school’s growing reputation within the Big North Conference.
