Alvernia’s Academic Excellence Recognized
The Middle Atlantic Conference revealed its latest academic honor roll on Tuesday, acknowledging a remarkable 247 Alvernia University student‑athletes who achieved a minimum 3.20 grade point average during their respective competitive seasons.
The recognition spans a wide array of sports, from basketball and ice hockey to track and field, wrestling, bowling, baseball, golf, lacrosse and softball, reflecting the university’s diverse athletic programs.
High Standards for GPA
What sets this cohort apart is the depth of academic performance, with 41 Alvernia athletes posting a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout their seasons, underscoring a culture where scholarly achievement and athletic ambition are pursued in tandem.
Beyond the classroom, the honorees hail from a multitude of hometowns across Pennsylvania, the broader United States and even international locales, illustrating the university’s far‑reaching community of scholars and competitors.
A Conference‑Wide Celebration
The conference also highlighted that the honor roll is not limited to MAC members; an additional 62 non‑MAC student‑athletes and ten individuals with a 4.0 GPA were celebrated, bringing the total count of recognized participants to an impressive 4,274 across the league.
Such acknowledgment reinforces the conference’s commitment to fostering well‑rounded student‑athletes, emphasizing that success in competition is complemented by a strong academic foundation.
