A Season of Growth
The 2026 college baseball season wrapped up with Oklahoma clinching the national championship, defeating North Carolina 13‑2 in the final game of the College World Series.
Baseball America’s final Top 25 placed Tennessee at No. 25, capping a 38‑22 campaign that saw the Vols overcome a shaky start to finish strong, winning series in three of their last four weekends.
Under head coach Josh Elander, the team turned a mid‑season slump into a late‑season surge, highlighted by a series victory over the eventual champions.
The Vols also made noise in the transfer market, welcoming five newcomers — pitchers Jake McCoy, Brody Trosclair and Ricky Ojeda, plus infielder Wyatt Hanoian — while several key players announced they will return next year.
Outfielder Blaine Brown, along with pitchers Landon Mack and Cam Appenzeller, confirmed their intent to stay, giving the program continuity heading into the next season.
Looking Ahead
The coaching staff and players are already focused on the upcoming schedule, hoping to translate early‑season progress into a championship‑contending roster.
