A Milestone in Program History
Todd Hudson, a senior outfielder for Charlotte Baseball, has been selected as an Academic All-American by College Sports Communicators, joining an exclusive group of alumni who have earned the distinction.
The honor marks the fourth time a player from the program has been recognized by the organization and the first since 2013, underscoring the program’s rising academic standards.
Hudson graduated with a degree in Capitalism Studies and maintained a cumulative 3.95 GPA throughout his four-year collegiate career, a testament to his dedication both in the classroom and on the diamond.
On the field, he finished third on the team with a .337 batting average, recording 70 hits, 10 home runs and 43 RBIs, while also contributing eight stolen bases and five outfield assists that helped turn a double play.
His performance earned him a Second Team All-Conference nod in the American Conference, and he delivered two grand slam home runs in games against South Carolina and Gardner-Webb, each producing eight RBIs.
A Legacy of Excellence
The recognition reflects not only individual achievement but also the program’s broader commitment to developing student-athletes who excel in both scholarship and sport.
Coaches and teammates alike praised Hudson’s work ethic, noting that his blend of academic rigor and athletic performance sets a benchmark for future classes.
