The University of Louisville has released its 2026 field hockey schedule, a 18‑game slate that blends home‑court excitement with a demanding road circuit.
Eight of those contests will be played at Trager Stadium, giving the Cardinals a familiar backdrop as they chase a historic milestone.
The centerpiece of the season will be the NCAA Field Hockey Championship, scheduled for November 20‑22 at the same venue, marking the seventh time Trager Stadium has hosted the tournament.
Celebrating 50 years of Division I competition
2026 also marks the 50th anniversary of Louisville’s varsity field hockey program, a milestone that the athletic department plans to honor with a post‑game celebration after the final regular‑season match.
The season opens with a preseason scrimmage against Bellarmine on August 19, followed by the official opener versus Miami (Ohio) on August 28. The early weekend concludes with a home matchup against Indiana, setting the tone for the campaign.
Conference battles and road trips
Atlantic Coast Conference play begins on September 18 at Boston College, and the Cardinals will then embark on a four‑game road stretch in September, testing their depth against Cal and UC Davis before returning for a three‑game homestand that includes contests with North Carolina, Stanford and Bellarmine.
Later in the schedule, Louisville travels to Syracuse before closing the regular season at home against Duke, then wraps up with a road trip that includes stops at Virginia, Richmond and a non‑conference game at Wake Forest.
The final three games will be played away, culminating in the ACC Championship at North Carolina’s Karen Shelton Stadium from November 3‑6, where the Cardinals aim to add another title to their storied legacy.
