Jake DuPree has been named the new head coach of the men’s basketball program at Louisiana State University of Alexandria, commonly referred to as LSUA. The university confirmed the appointment on Tuesday, setting his start date for July 6, 2026. DuPree will transition from his previous role at Lourdes University, where he spent eleven seasons shaping the program’s culture and performance.
A Proven Record of Success
During his time at Lourdes, DuPree compiled a 42‑18 overall record and guided the Gray Wolves to an NAIA National Championship Opening Round appearance in the 2024‑25 season. His teams captured the Wolverine‑Hoosier Athletic Conference Champions of Character award for the 2025‑26 campaign, and he produced multiple All‑Conference and All‑American honorees, underscoring his ability to develop talent.
DuPree’s coaching philosophy centers on five core values: faith, accountability, discipline, teamwork, and toughness. He has spoken openly about the importance of integrating these principles into everyday practice, aiming to foster not only athletic excellence but also personal growth among his student‑athletes.
Looking Ahead
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, DuPree said he is eager to contribute to LSUA’s mission of academic and athletic excellence. He emphasized a commitment to student‑athlete development that blends competitive success with character building, and he looks forward to collaborating with university leaders, staff, and the broader community as the program moves into its next chapter.
