Two former Baton Rouge high school standouts, Grayden Harris and Camden Sunstrom, have been selected for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp in Cary, North Carolina, a gateway to the World Collegiate Baseball Championship in Taiwan.
Path to International Competition
Both players concluded the 2026 Southern Miss season before receiving the invitation, a campaign that helped the Southern Miss Eagles secure the ninth national seed in the NCAA Tournament.
The training camp, which convenes only 56 college athletes from across the country, will determine the final 26‑man squad that will represent the United States in Taiwan from July 11 through July 15.
Harris and Sunstrom join a select group of prospects who now have the opportunity to showcase their talents on an international stage, with the ultimate goal of bringing a championship home to the United States.
The camp in Cary serves as a crucible where raw collegiate talent is refined under the guidance of national team coaches.
Participants will undergo intensive drills, strategic briefings and exhibition games designed to simulate the pressures of international play.
For Harris and Sunstrom, the experience represents a culmination of years of development that began on the dusty fields of Louisiana’s prep circuits.
Their inclusion underscores the growing pipeline of talent that moves from Southern Mississippi’s collegiate program to the national spotlight.
