The News-Press and Naples Daily News have unveiled a nostalgic tribute to two and a half decades of high school baseball excellence in Southwest Florida.
From the class of 2001 through the graduating seniors of 2025, a total of 25 standout athletes have been shortlisted for a public vote that will determine the region’s best player of the past 25 seasons.
How the Candidates Were Chosen
Eligibility required each prospect to have suited up for a Southwest Florida high school team during the 21‑year window, with additional weight given to achievements at the high school level, collegiate performance and any professional breakthroughs.
Voters can review detailed profiles and statistics on the newspapers’ dedicated voting portal, where the final decision will be cast before the deadline of June 30 at 10 a.m.
The initiative not only celebrates individual talent but also underscores the deep baseball roots that have shaped countless careers and community pride across the Gulf Coast.
As the voting period draws to a close, fans are encouraged to participate and help shape the legacy of Southwest Florida’s baseball heritage.
