Celebrating Regional Excellence
The Leaf-Chronicle has released its All-Area boys soccer team for the 2026 TSSAA season, recognizing the top talent that shaped the recent campaign. The honor roll includes players from a dozen schools who posted impressive statistical lines and helped their squads achieve notable results.
Antonio Cowan of West Creek stands out as the Player of the Year after delivering 23 goals, a tally that underscored his role as the team’s offensive engine. His achievement has sparked excitement among supporters who now have until 2 p.m. on June 27 to cast their vote for the season’s best player.
Other award winners include Kaden Armitage of Rossview, who earned District 13-AAA Defensive MVP honors with a goal and seven assists, and Damien Barnes of Clarksville, the district’s Offensive MVP after netting 17 goals and adding four assists. Hudson Black from Clarksville also received recognition, making the All-District Team with three goals and three shutouts.
Midfielders and forwards from across the area were celebrated as well. Joao Castello of Northeast contributed 19 goals and four assists, while Rollie Contreras of Kirkwood played a key part in a defense that yielded just 22 goals in 17 matches. Kayden Cote from West Creek was named District 14-AAA Midfielder of the Year after recording seven goals and 11 assists.
In goal, Sam Cunningham of Clarksville earned D13-AAA Goalkeeper of the Year with 96 saves and a 77.4% save percentage, and Javian Daley from West Creek added 11 goals and 10 assists to his résumé. Ben Fitting of Rossview contributed five goals and seven assists, and Emiliano Fuimaono of Rossview scored nine goals while setting up three more.
The breadth of talent recognized reflects the growing competitiveness of high school soccer in the region, and the Leaf-Chronicle’s poll invites the community to help determine the player who made the biggest impact this season.
