Choosing a Future
Brayton Feister, a standout linebacker from Ohio, has emerged as one of the most coveted prospects in the 2025 class. With 133 tackles, 39 for loss, 13 sacks and 1,098 rushing yards last season, his blend of size, speed and instincts has placed him on the radar of the nation’s premier programs.
After receiving offers from California in January 2024, Georgia in March, Oregon in May 2025 and Ohio State in late January, Feister embarked on a series of campus tours that have shaped his perception of each school’s environment and opportunities.
California’s emphasis on business education and the promise of immediate playing time resonated with Feister, who appreciated the campus experience from June 5‑7. Georgia’s reputation for producing NFL linebackers and its aggressive defensive scheme appealed to him during his June 12‑14 visit, while Oregon’s distinctive culture and staff’s track record in developing safeties into professional linebackers impressed him on his June 19‑21 trip. Ohio State, despite a dream‑school status and a January 29 offer, presented logistical challenges that prevented an official visit.
Coaching Connections
Feister has highlighted the influence of position coaches such as Tosh Lupoi at California, Glenn Schumann at Georgia, Brian Michalowki at Oregon and Dan Lanning, as well as James Laurinaitis, in shaping his outlook on each program’s development path.
These relationships, combined with each school’s academic offerings and campus vibe, have become decisive factors as he contemplates his next step.
