A father and his son from Massapequa Park found themselves in legal trouble after a violent confrontation with a landscaper that erupted on a quiet residential street.
According to authorities, the dispute began when the landscaper, operating heavy equipment, inadvertently drove over the driveway apron that marks the entrance to the family's property, prompting an immediate argument.
The disagreement quickly escalated, with the assailants wielding a wooden rod and a black baseball bat as they assaulted the worker, striking him repeatedly until he was left bleeding.
Victim’s Condition and Hospitalization
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment, where medical staff assessed the extent of his injuries before releasing him.
Arrests and Charges
Police arrived shortly after the assault and detained both the father and his son without further incident, securing the scene and gathering evidence.
Both suspects now face second-degree assault charges along with a fourth-degree count of criminal possession of a weapon, offenses that carry significant penalties under New York law.
Their upcoming court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead, where a judge will determine the next steps in the legal process.
