Vanderbilt University has released its 2026 men’s soccer schedule, a slate that blends a strong returning core with a challenging non‑conference lineup.
A deep roster ready for battle
The Commodores will open the season at home against SMU on August 12, setting the tone for a campaign that sees them retain 83 percent of the goal production from the program’s first NCAA tournament quarterfinal team.
Leading the attack is senior forward Sydney Watts, who topped the SEC with 15 goals last season and will be a central figure in the team’s offensive plans.
Early tests and marquee venues
August brings a series of road and neutral‑site tests, including contests against ETSU and Memphis, while the team travels to Houston to face Rice and Houston in what the schedule calls the Space City portion of the slate.
The non‑conference portion wraps up in September with home matches versus Tennessee Tech and Xavier, after which SEC play begins on the road in Athens, Georgia, on September 11.
Conference grind and the road ahead
October’s schedule alternates home and away fixtures, giving the Commodores a chance to build momentum while navigating the rigors of SEC competition.
The regular season will culminate with a two‑game homestand against Texas and South Carolina, a pair of matches that could prove decisive for seeding in the upcoming SEC Tournament.
SEC Tournament in Pensacola
Concluding the year, Vanderbilt will head to Pensacola, Florida, where the SEC Tournament is slated for November 8 through 15, offering a final chance to showcase the progress made over the long season.
