The College Baseball Foundation has announced its latest All‑America selections, and among the honorees are Mississippi State standouts Ace Reese, Noah Sullivan and pitcher Tomas Valincius. While Reese earned a spot on the foundation’s All‑America team, both Sullivan and Valincius were listed among the honorable mentions, highlighting the depth of talent on the Bulldogs’ roster.
Ace Reese: A Career Defined by Consistency
Reese, a junior third baseman, continues to etch his name into the program’s record books. He has now been recognized as an All‑American nine times over his collegiate career and stands as the third player in Mississippi State history to post 20 or more home runs in consecutive seasons. This year he batted .336, clubbed 24 homers and drove in 74 runs, adding 23 doubles to a potent mix of power and consistency.
Noah Sullivan, meanwhile, proved equally impactful at the plate. The designated hitter posted a team‑best .342 average and a .451 on‑base percentage, while also earning first‑team All‑American honors from the NCBWA and being named a two‑time CSC Academic All‑American of the Year. His blend of production and scholarship excellence underscores his all‑around value.
Valincius’s Pitching Prowess
On the mound, Tomas Valincius delivered an 11‑2 record with a 3.50 earned run average, striking out 134 batters while walking just 20 in 97 ⅔ innings. His performance earned first‑team All‑America recognition from the NCBWA and second‑team nods from Baseball America, the American Baseball Coaches Association and Perfect Game, cementing his status as one of the nation’s top collegiate pitchers.
The accolades reflect not only individual brilliance but also the Bulldogs’ sustained competitiveness in the SEC. With a tradition that includes alumni such as Will Clark and Rafael Palmeiro, Mississippi State continues to develop talent that resonates beyond the diamond, drawing attention from professional scouts and academic institutions alike.
