The 2026 season will be remembered for the individual accolades earned by Central Catholic’s emerging talent, as Draden Wardrop, Jack Zelmanski and Trent Snapp all secured spots on the All‑District teams.
Wardrop anchored the lineup with a .434 batting average, reached base at a .488 clip and stole 22 bases, earning First Team All‑District honors and adding All‑Catholic recognition from the Catholic High School League while also being named Division III Second Team All‑Ohio.
Zelmanski matched that distinction with a .385 average, 12 runs, 12 RBI and a .474 on‑base percentage, drawing All‑League notice from the CHSL and a First Team All‑District placement.
Snapp, though batting .271, contributed 19 hits and 17 stolen bases, while his work on the mound yielded a 3.74 ERA and 53 strikeouts across 33.2 innings, earning him a Second Team All‑District nod.
A season of growth
Under head coach Jeff Mielcarek, the Fighting Irish finished the spring at 9‑19, but the performances of Wardrop, Zelmanski and Snapp signal a promising foundation for future success.
