Appalachian State's field hockey program has unveiled its 2026 schedule, marking the next chapter after a breakthrough season that saw the team climb into the national Top 20 for the first time.
Schedule Highlights
The lineup features nine home contests at the Dr. Jan C. Watson Field, all of which are open to the public at no cost, giving fans a chance to experience the action up close.
The season opens with preseason scrimmages against Queens on August 16 and Liberty on August 22, setting the tone for a demanding slate that includes both familiar rivals and new opponents.
Early in the campaign the Mountaineers will host Towson and Georgetown, programs they have faced annually since 2021, before traveling to take on Davidson and American in September.
The first Atlantic Coast Conference opponent arrives on September 13 when Wake Forest visits, and the team will later meet North Carolina, its in‑state rival, on October 25.
Mid‑American Conference play begins on September 18 against Bellarmine, followed by a series of road trips that include stops at UMass, Vermont, Kent State and James Madison.
The regular season concludes with a final non‑conference matchup against North Carolina on October 25 and the annual senior night game against Longwood on October 30.
The MAC Field Hockey Championship will be staged in Oxford, Ohio, from November 4‑7, capping a schedule that blends home‑field advantage with challenging away contests.
With a solid group of returners and an influx of promising freshmen, the Mountaineers are optimistic about building on last year’s historic achievements and competing strongly across the 2026 season.
