Algonquin Regional High School is set to host a youth field hockey clinic this summer, inviting girls who will be entering fifth through eighth grade to learn and compete on the field.
Clinic Details
The clinic is scheduled for August 27, running from 3:00 in the afternoon until 5:00 p.m., and will take place at the Algonquin GonkPlex multi‑purpose field, a venue familiar to the school’s varsity squad.
Under the guidance of Coach Dan Welty and several members of the varsity team, participants will receive instruction that spans basic skills to advanced tactics, ensuring that every player, regardless of experience, can benefit from the session.
Community Impact
Open to all skill levels, the clinic carries a registration fee of $35 per participant, with all proceeds earmarked for the ARHS Boosters, the organization that supports the school’s athletic programs.
The varsity team has a recent history of excellence, having captured Mid‑Wach League championships in both 2023 and 2024 and advancing to the Elite Eight in those years; in 2025, the team reached the Sweet Sixteen in the Division 1 state tournament.
Community members and families are encouraged to sign up early, as spots are limited and the event promises a fun, supportive environment for budding athletes.
