The Vegas Golden Knights are bringing their popular youth hockey outreach back to Arizona this summer, offering a series of free clinics that combine skill development with unique fan experiences.
Free youth hockey clinics return to Arizona
From July 10 through July 12, 2026, the team will conduct sessions at Ice Den Scottsdale and Mullett Arena in Tempe, targeting multiple age groups and including dedicated girls‑only slots. Each clinic is part of the NHL Learn to Play program and will feature on‑ice instruction, autograph sessions and the chance to meet players and the team’s mascot, Chance.
Vegas Golden Knights alumni Deryk Engelland will join the instruction staff alongside other current and former players, adding a personal touch that resonates with young participants. The presence of the mascot further enhances the festive atmosphere, encouraging families to attend.
Advance registration is required, and spots are expected to fill quickly given the program’s popularity. This marks the latest in a series of Arizona clinics the franchise has organized, with similar events held in October 2024, December 2024, March 2025, July 2025 and October 2025.
A tradition of community engagement
Beyond the summer clinics, the Golden Knights have a history of supporting youth sports across the Southwest, leveraging their platform to promote hockey participation among under‑served communities. The initiative aligns with the team’s broader mission to grow the sport at the grassroots level.
The franchise, owned by Black Knight Sports and Entertainment LLC, captured its first Stanley Cup in the 2022‑23 season, a milestone that has amplified its community outreach efforts.
