Brian Kelly is set to become a color analyst for Mountain West football broadcasts on CBS Sports beginning in 2026, and he will also serve as a studio analyst on the network’s flagship program, “Inside College Football.”
The move follows Kelly’s abrupt departure from Louisiana State University during the 2025 season, a tenure marked by a 5‑3 start that unraveled after a loss to Texas A&M. Over his three‑year stint at LSU he compiled a 34‑14 overall record, including a 19‑10 mark in SEC play, and finished with a career head‑coaching ledger of 297‑109‑2.
Prior to LSU, Kelly enjoyed a highly successful decade at the University of Notre Dame, where he guided the Fighting Irish to a BCS national championship game appearance after the 2012 season and amassed 113 victories. His coaching philosophy has increasingly emphasized player development and mentorship, themes he has said will continue to shape his future endeavors.
