Warren Central Soccer Teams Dominate Summer 7‑on‑7 Tournament

Both boys and girls squads finish unbeaten, highlighting standout performances

Summer Showcase

Warren Central’s boys and girls soccer programs wrapped up their summer workout period with perfect weeks, each team finishing its schedule without a loss. The achievements came during the Central Mississippi 7‑on‑7 Tournament, a showcase that highlighted the depth of talent across both squads.

The boys team dominated the competition, winning all three of its matches at Richland High School. Nick Lee led the offense with five goals, while Jacob Porter added three. Reed McClurg and Kade Vaughn contributed single strikes, and Porter and Lee each recorded an assist in the win over Richland. Goalkeeper Mohamed Shaibi made more than a dozen saves, and defensive work from Klein Leist and Whit Loper helped preserve clean sheets.

The girls program divided its roster into varsity and junior‑varsity squads, both of which remained unbeaten. The varsity side defeated Kosciusko 8‑0, Terry 9‑1 and Richland 2‑0, with Addi Mullen scoring five goals and Avery Hern adding four. The junior‑varsity team also posted three shutout victories, highlighted by Jaycee Davidson’s four‑goal performance against Kosciusko and strong contributions from Annalise Henry, Emma Pearl Mailhot, Chloe Reese Davis and Miranda Sanchez.

Beyond the scoreboard, the tournaments underscored the programs’ balanced attack and stout defense. Shaibi’s saves, combined with solid back‑line play from Leist and Loper, gave the teams a firm foundation, while the variety of goal‑scorers demonstrated a depth that bodes well for the upcoming season.

Looking Ahead

With a roster that blends prolific scorers and reliable keepers, Warren Central enters the new campaign poised to build on its summer momentum. The experience gained against Richland, North Pike and other regional opponents should translate into stronger performances when the official season begins.
