Longwood Women's Soccer Adds Eight New Faces
The Longwood University women's soccer team is gearing up for the 2026 campaign with a roster that promises both continuity and fresh energy, anchored by Coach Todd Dyer’s vision for competition.
Eight newcomers have signed on, comprising four transfers and four freshmen, each bringing a distinct set of achievements and expectations.
Transfer Experience Meets High School Excellence
Bailey Altizer arrives after a stint at Eastern Kentucky, where she honed her defensive skills, while Maddy Howells brings a midfield perspective from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Brooke Owens, a former VCU standout, adds pace to the wing, and McKenna Vogel, who transferred from Campbell, brings a strong attacking mindset.
The freshmen class features Izzy Anson, Brynn Clagett, Taylor Martin and Addie Russell. Anson captained San Dieguito Academy and earned second‑team all‑league honors, Clagett set a school record for shutouts, Martin holds the single‑season goal record at FJ Reitz High School, and Russell helped guide her high school team to a state title game while also securing an ECNL Champions League victory with her club.
Coach Todd Dyer says the blend of experienced transfers and promising newcomers creates a balanced mix that can compete at the top of the conference.
With the new talent integrated, the program hopes to maintain its upward trajectory and challenge the established powers within the league.
