Sloane May, a senior midfielder and forward at Hamilton Southeastern High School, has been named the Gatorade Indiana Girls Soccer Player of the Year for the 2025‑26 season, an honor that spotlights both athletic excellence and community leadership.
Breaking records and building character
During the campaign she helped the Eagles finish a perfect 22‑0‑1 record and capture the Class 3A state championship, tallying 15 goals and 17 assists while setting new school marks for career assists and consecutive games with a goal involvement.
Beyond the pitch, May volunteers with the U.S. Youth Soccer TOPSoccer program, mentoring young athletes with physical and intellectual challenges, and she maintains a 3.45 GPA, earning membership in the National Honor Society.
Her dedication on and off the field earned her additional accolades, including the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association Player of the Year and the United Soccer Coaches 2025 National Player of the Year, and she has committed to play at Indiana University on scholarship.
The Gatorade Player of the Year program, which selects state winners across 12 sports, provides each recipient with a grant to support a social‑impact partner of their choice, having distributed more than $6.4 million to over 2,200 organizations nationwide.
